Who will start their Camino France in August 2018? //Robbie

For members who start Camino Frances in August 2018 you can play with the Calendar:
https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/calendar/

Or you look in the "class of 2018":
https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/threads/class-of-2018.41615/page-5

Or you play with the search function...

I will hopefully be on the Camino Frances in August as well, but want to start in Somport (Camino Aragonés) on July the 13th.

As I understand it, August is one of the most popular months so you won't be alone - 'cause I'll be there as well! ;)
I'm arriving in SJPdP Friday the 10th and will hopefully get myself to Santiago within a month or so...

Camino's Frances, Fisterre, Portuges. Over 180 day
Hello, just wondering if it is really that hot to walk in August? I am afraid of the heat but I want to know how hard it is.
Yes July and August is warm and drier than the other months. That can have its advantages, though. You can carry way less equipment. No need for a sleeping bag. The only rain gear needed is a lightweight poncho. You can wear shorts everyday, and a single layer shirt/top. All in all you can easily walk with a pack that weighs 5-6 kilos.
Just make sure you wear a hat, sunscreen and hydrate, hydrate, hydrate.
I would not say it is a harder time to walk the Frances.
