Today's recipe from Spanish Sabores apparently has a Camino history of its own. Lemony muffin/cupcakes called Magdalenas, named after a woman named Magdalena who used to give them out to pilgrim's on the Camino. Here is the recipe, although I have not yet tried it myself. The French version - a Madeleine - is flatter and made in a scallop-shell-shaped mould; so more easily associated with St James. The two (or more) versions probably share similar origins.
