I hopefully start 9th October. Arrive SJPDP the day before. If everything goes right I will get there around 7pm and get to the pilgrim's office but if things don't go right I won't be able to get there until it's just enough time to get straight to sleep and will have to wait until it opens the next day at 8amish.

I just want to get started. I think because I've not got the dates nailed down that's adding to my nerves. When I'm there I'm free for time and have enough saved to be okay.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

I will arrive Sant Jean very late on 18th September. Will have to wait next morning to visit the pilgrims office. That means mostly likely I will arrive Roncesvalles later than most fellow pilgrims. Good thing is that I have secured a bed in Roncesvalles albergue so that I can walk the first day without worrying about where to sleep. Buen Camino!

I don't want to get in the habit of booking ahead. I'm going to see what I can do about transport to SJPDP. I know there's a bus service for pilgrims. If I can book that then I might want to play it cool but I do definitely want to do that leg to Roncesvalles in a day but Im might be foolish to rush it so it might be best so I can take my time walking a mountain on the first day.

Is there a list of albergues that also have private rooms on the Camino Frances? Gracias.
Hi everyone -- After walking the Frances from SJpdP last October, I'm planning to revisit the bit between Logrono and Burgos this July, following different stages. It's the section where I had...
