Is the Cathedral open at present? I saw somewhere that it was closed for renovations

There is a special invitation-only mass at 11am today for the installation of the new archbishop. The cathedral will be closed to visitors for a few hours between 9am and 1pm because of that. But otherwise it is open normally.
Thank you

It was closed for renovations for a time before the holy year of 2021.
Was it closed, or were parts of it closed to the public during that time as the renovations were underway in those areas? I ask because I find the notion that a cathedral would close completely rather strange.

I think that there was very limited access to one of the side chapels for very infrequent services. Other than that public access to the building was not allowed for many months and the regular cathedral services took place in a nearby church instead.

You are correct. I didn't go into detail.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

It was an experience to walk inside the room with huge sheets of plastic and walls stripped bare of ornaments, sounds of handtools....

Hello, my shoes are pretty down and worn out now with holes in it. As it is rainy these days I won’t make it to Fisterra with dry feet. Can you recommend a good shop for shoes in Santiago...
