Choosing between Ultra-Sil Nano Tarp/Poncho and Regular Tarp/Poncho for Short People

Hi all,

I am debating on the Ultra-Sil Nano Tarp/Poncho vs the regular one. I am short and suspect the regular one might be long enough to go over my pack and still give me adequate coverage. Any insights?

Thank you!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

€60,-
We're very happy with our "Warmlite" (Stephensons Warmlite) ponchos. They cover our backpacks and length is adjustable for when not wearing a pack. Material is Silicone infused ripstop nylon. When we ordered ours one could specify custom lengths and colors, even having each panel (including the 3 panels in hood) a different color - check with them if interested in this.

We also made waterproof leg sleeves (chaps) of the same material, purchased from Warmlite (or elsewhere). Each leg is separate, cut at a bevel at the top and fastened to belt loops with shoelace strings. We made them large enough to fit over boots and provide ventilation (and vapor) proof.

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).

I hiked the Camino Ingles last June with my sister. I had the regular sea to summit regular ultrasil poncho and my sister had the tarp poncho. We had 3 days with quite a bit of rain.

She stayed much dryer than I did. I think the regular hit me about the knee. I’m pretty tall 5’9”. My sister is 5’6” and tarp poncho hit her mid shin.

I also felt like the tarp poncho was a little better in the wind. I think the regular poncho has 2 snaps on the side versus 3 on tarp poncho. I don’t know how well the snaps will stay closed in really high wind.

I did purchase the tarp poncho for my next Camino.

The Warmlite poncho has zippers up the sides, no snaps.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Hi all! I know shoes are discussed quite a bit here but I have a last minute question as I head out on the Camino Frances next Sunday. I have a weaker ankle so I purchase the Oboz Sapphire Mid...
Anyone had any experience with getting collapsible (fold up) poles through airport security checkpoints in carryon baggage. In particular when exiting Australia and Spain?
There are a lot of discussions about preparing for a Camino. What boots? Waterproof? Do I need poles? What's the best pack, size, brand? All good questions and there's a lot of information on all...
I stopped in the pilgrim store Armería Castro.Deportes y Tienda del peregrino today, and they carry bags of wool to use on your feet. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Zb8fM4AK2qyCuGYt6?g_st=ac
