I'm flying into Lisbon on 10 July and have a hotel reservation near Parque das Nações. My plan was to walk out the next day but I've heard that the city is in some sort of weekend lockdown. I'm wondering if that means public transportation or vehicle traffic or if the city is just shut down including the Camino out of the city. Does anyone have any information on this? Thank you.

I wouldn't call it a lockdown. Life is continuing more or less as normal inside the city, but yes, it's true that you are not allowed to travel in or out of Lisbon ON THE WEEKENDS. This travel ban is in effect from 3 pm on Fridays to the wee hours of Mondays (it ends on Mondays at 6am if I'm not mistaken).

While it's probably unlikely you would be stopped when on foot, if you tried it you would be breaking the law and would be subject to a fine or other measures. I'd suggest staying somewhere in the center instead if you want to check out the sights in Lisbon, then start walking on Monday.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

Thanks Wendy. Do you think I will have any problem getting to the hotel from the airport? My room is already paid for there and I hate to waste the money. I do plan on using the weekend to sightsee in Lisbon.

None yet; perhaps the Portugese (2021?)

If your hotel is in Lisbon, you should be fine. The airport is definitely within the confines of "greater Lisbon," the area that is shut down.

I see you're staying at Parque des Nacoes. That's just three subway stops from the airport.

And you're not travelling until July. The lockdowns could very well be finished by then--they're sort of taking it week by week. Or--they could be locked down more. They're very concerned about this Delta variant and the Lisbon cases going up more quickly over the last week or so.
