Out the door again early with high temperatures and humidity already on the rise.
Not many businesses open along the way so I hurried to get to Pavia.
On the outskirts of Pavia I came upon a Farmers market and enjoyed a delicious Arrancini and ice tea for lunch then visited several churches ⛪️ and photographed their beautiful altars.
Made it into Pavia and met friends who drove from Milan to have dinner with me.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Did you enter Pavia over the big covered bridge Bob?
Also how was the 'path' along the meandering river enroute? It was a lovely walk but the track was incredibly overgrown when I walked; waist high grass & hidden prickly things. Apart from that, with reference to my previous posts (🐍) I wasn't risking anything so walked along the road! 😊

They may be minute, but they leave an 'impression' 🌵🐍😲...& sometimes one that can only be dealt with by tweezers & antiseptic cream!! 😆
You're correct tho Chrissy...& its what I love about long distance walking; it makes you be right there, right then...& thats why we remember. 🥰

I also walked a good part on the road and avoided being near the jungle like marsh and river.
I want to avoid the mosquito habitats but I guess I didn't do a good job of it because I just woke up and have three new large bites.
When leaving this morning I will be walking by the Coperto bridge though.

Due to length restraints, I’ve had to to split the story into two posts. I find it no longer ‘flows’. I suggest reading Part 1 again, link just below, before reading Part 2. Regards Gerard Part 1...
G’day, I am an Aussie walking from London via Canterbury and the VF to Rome. After completing the Lon-Cant section (Chaucers’ Pilgrims Way) I am now in Licques at the end of Day 4 on the VF...
