Time of past OR future Camino
2015!
I there, I am planning my first camino in late summer/early fall 2015, arriving on the Camino Frances
from the U.S.

Currently planning to walk alone, unless I find a like minded fellow traveller.

Would truly love to find an online buddy to share the planning/training process.

Thank you! Peace!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hiya,
I'm also in the planning stages for a 2015 trip - very early stages!
I'm an Aussie girl also planning to walk alone so it would be great to share thoughts as we go.

Kate

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Kate and Barefoot Woman -- Greetings. I'm also planning on a September 2015 Camino. I'm happy to communicate on planning, training, ewuipment and pre and post trip travel.

Good news this week, I see Fall 2014 airfares are getting better, as low as US$794 RT from West Coast cities to Madrid on Delta in September. Let's see if others match.

I travel a lot and thinking about a reconaissance trip with a rental car this fall, maybe a week or so to drive the main roads on the Camino Frances.

Anyone else thinking about a pre-Camino look see trip?

Hi Thomas,
Looks like a fair few people are thinking about Sept as a great time to go, I'm planning May for myself so happy to share experiences once done!

Would love to do a pre-trip visit but popping over from Sydney is a little challenging...;-)

Hello Thomas. I am also planning my trip for September 2015. Hoping to start around the 3rd of September from sjpdp. If you do make a re-con trip this fall, would love to know what you find out.

Hi Arizona.. My plan is for a June trip too before it gets too hot in Spain, especially August when it is really hot.. So would like to see it completed before august.. I may be in Spain in June but if not I will travel from the UK..

Happy planning Kate! Josie here from Adelaide, what month are you going? My friends and I are planning on Sept/Oct.

Hi Josie - I'm going next May following my bro's wedding overseas. I've probably only got 3 weeks so want to make the most of it!

Thanks Primus, I'll order this. Good luck with the training!

I may switch to an early May start so I can have a holiday break in June.. I'll certainly need one I guess..once I get the 3 peaks out of the way in late august I will sit down and start the planning..I have a mountain walk in early October, the Cabrera mountains in Andalucia.. Only a 9 hour walk but with steep uphill and sharp downhill sections it will keep my legs in trim.. Will be carrying about the same weight that I would expect to carry on the Camino.. Happy walking..

I am keen to Rrive in St Jean around the 29th April and spend a couple of days there getting organised, with the hope to set off on the camino on the 1st may.. Accommodation is running out fast, I saw a studio room that sleeps four or five.. €115 for the two nights..I May book it.. If anyone is interested in sharing the cost?.

I have now booked accommodation for the 29th & 30th April 2015, a studio apartment that will sleep 4 or 5 people. Self catering..It is my intention to start the Camino on the 1st May.. The cost was €145 for the two nights.. Anyone interested in sharing let me know.. It is quite plush but a bit of comfort before the trek will be a bonus..

Oh.. It's only 700 mtrs away from the camino start.. Wahoo!!!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Hi Primus,
Unfortunately I don't think I will be able to start at St Jean, as much as I'd like to, I just don't think I'll have the time to get to Santiago. That is unless I decide to do it the other way round, and come back again next year!
How long are you expecting it to take you? Giving enough space for a bit of rambling and enjoying the unexpected of course...

Hi Kate, Primus, I'm looking to go from SJPdP to Finnistere in May/June. 35+ days.
Primus, could you send more info on the place you booked? We might be interested. My husband will be seeing me off and we haven't booked anything yet.

Hi Kate/ Tink. I'll be having my 58th birthday on the camino so I'm no spring chicken, I've given myself a month to complete but allowed an extra two weeks, so six weeks in all in case of injury, ie sprains etc. I want to enjoy the experience not just finish it. The accommodation booked is at the Résidence Pierre & Vacances Le Parc D’Arradoy . The studio room for four to five people.. Looked nice and close to the centre of SJPDP.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
I've booked it for two nights so I can rest after the travelling to SJPDP and the following day get everything ready, the pilgrims passport, what to carry etc. my girlfriend and i have a caravan in southern Spain and I spend a lot of time there near the Cabrera mountains, I may well travel from there rather than fly from the UK..just got to figure the travelling bit out..

Hi Primus, it's not looking good for finding a place in SJPDP, we may like to take you up in sharing a place. My husband is seeing me off so there would be two of us. I'm 60 and plan to take 5 wks and go onto finesterra. Our plan is to rent a place in Finesterra for rest up afterward. Is there still room available.?

Hi Tink.. Yep.. No problems.. I'll reserve two spaces for you guys so you're sorted..see you on the 29th April next year.. Happy days..

Mt. Snowdon done last week, A ten hour + walk done yesterday with my new pack..it worked well and the UK 3 peaks in a few weeks.. Training coming on well.. Still trying to decide on whether to take a sleeping bag or not, my new silk liner sack arrived yesterday, weighs nothing but would it be sufficient for May?? Can't wait to experience the camino..There's a film..The Way.. A good film about the camino.. It's what inspired me to want to do it, directed by Emilio Estevez and staring Martin Sheen.. A good watch..
For those that are starting in May.. See you there pilgrims..
