Here we go again! Mark your calendars!

Announcing the 4th Annual Camino Pilgrim Gathering in Victoria!!

on Saturday, March 8th, 2008 at Burnside Gorge Community Centre.

If you are considering walking the Camino pilgrimage route in northern Spain, or if you have already walked it – this is the gathering for you. It will be an informative day to enable past pilgrims to exchange stories and new pilgrims to obtain information about the Camino.

We are still in the planning stages, but the program will include:

Ben Cole of Pili Pala Press with his new full-colour book of Camino maps
practical information and tips, what to pack, when to go
pilgrim sharing time – open microphone
a lunch of Spanish tapas from Café Madrid
routes – Camino frances and alternate routes
… and more … details are forthcoming.

Please email wendy@santiago.ca by February 1st if you have suggestions for program content or if you wish to have your name removed from this list.
Announcement:

In November 2007 Mary Virtue and Tom Friesen offered a very successful hospitalero training in Victoria. They are offering the same training again in London ON in April 2008. To help spread the word about this next hospitalero training we would ask that you forward it on to any fellow pilgrims you may know in the Ontario region.

A Hospitalero Training Course will be offered in London, Ontario from Friday, April 18 to Sunday, April 20, 2008. The program will begin on Friday Evening with a Tapas/Paella Reception and conclude on Sunday evening with a reception for the local Pilgrim Community.

The registration fee for the course will be $100. Meals (except for Saturday evening) are provided in this cost. A limit of 20 participants, who must be experienced Pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago, will be accepted. Billeting will be arranged for those who request it.

For further information, contact: Tom Friesen 519-439-8900 or tomfriesen@hotmail.com
