Is it necessary to get a VISA to travel to Spain from Canada?

My uncle is telling me today that I need to apply for a VISa to travel in Spain for the 2 months I will be gone.
Can anyone verify if this is correct information?
I haven't come accross anything telling me that I need to get a VISA.

Any information is helpful.

Canadians can travel to the Schengen states without a visa. You must limit your stay to 90 in 180 in all the Schengen states. France and Spain are Schengen states.
