Is there a Camino route that leaves from Madrid and get's to Santiago via Salamanca? I won't have time to walk from Seville North on the VDLP to Santiago, so I was looking for a shorter way (although it's still around 640km).

I have done a search of this forum, but not really found anything definitive on the idea.

Camino frances (05/06 2012) sjpdp-sdc; vdlp/camino sanabrea (02/03 2013) sevilla-sdc; hospitalero sdc june 2013, august-september 2013; caminho portugues (03 2014) lisboa-sdc
I think you will enjoyed more the vdlp from salamanca. Also in galicia most of the xunta albergues are opened in the winter. And as mentioned previously it is only 500 kilometers to sdc. I have done the vdlp also in the winter from sevilla.

Buen camino.

From Madrid there is only the Camino de Madrid which run up to meet the Frances in Sahagun.

Why don't you just start in Salamanca and walk the last part of the VdlP and continue on the Sanabres through Ourense to Santiago which is about 500 km?
Starting at Salamanca was my original thought, but I thought I'd ask about a Madrid leg. I would be okay walking from Seville, but my wife may have problems, so I thought half the VDLP is better than no VDLP.

Thank you LTfit, Piogaw and Thomas 1962 for your replies.
