Monastery at Oseira

Member
I have recently read conflicting reports about whether or not the Monastery at Oseira is still taking pilgrims. Does anyone know?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi,
My info on this is from this time last year.
We (4) pilgrims were allowed to stay overnight in the monesterio. Forget about the described single luxury cells or food being available. They are booked months in advance by folks on retreat. We were greeted very kindly and shown to a large stone room where we slept on the floor. The two bars outside the walls were able to provide very simple food - salad, no meat or fish.
I really enjoyed staying there.

Yes, it's possible. It cost 20 euros, I think, and you have to call by telephone the day before to have a place.

Impossible on summer, because the "turigrinos".

I'm not sure if just to sleep or it includes dinner. But the telephone number is: +34.988.28.20.04

But in any case, to sleep into lets you to stay in the religious activities in the monestry, and ... really I'm not sure, finally I couldn't sleep there.
