After walking hundreds of kilometers from Valencia we reached Galicia and approached Albergueria hoping that one of the most wonderful bars of the Camino, El Rincon del Peregrino, would be open. Over the past few years I had heard it was closed. Grateful to find it open. Welcomed by Roberto we will stay the night at their albergue and he helped me to find the shell I left here almost 5 years ago. The walls and ceiling of the Bar and Albergue across the street are covered with shells left by pilgrims over the years. All sorted by date. Wonderful! Is the Luis on the right the original owner? I am glad the albergue is open, I know they had a lot of issues with the authorities and generated a lot of bad local publicity, which I hope is all behind them now. I’ve got two shells hidden in there somewhere but had never thought I would be able to find them — you have inspired me!
