Outdoor stores in Leon?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Just off the main Calle Ancha there are several places if you walk from the Cathedral down the the river you will see a couple on your left. Sorry I don't know the names of them.

It is called Avda. Ordono II and there are a couple in that area to the left in the side streets. Sorry I can't be more helpful. There is a tourist info centre opp the Cathedral and heaps of pilgrims who may be able to help.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
There is a Decathlon in Ponferrada. Just after Cruce de Ferro last year, the strap on my old rucksack snapped on my descent but I was able to purchase a new one there. I don't speak Spanish but went into a shop in the town centre and eventually managed to make myself understood. They did not have what I needed there but a lovely lady in the shop tried to give me directions, knowing that I didn't understand, took me by the hand and walked a KM out of her way to show me where Decathlon was located. My faith in human nature and the kindness of people was restored.

There is a well-equipped outdoor gear shop off the town square in Astorga. Look for the giant backpack (see attached images); it's in the lower level of the corresponding shop.

Alpamayo in Avenida Lancia nº 12

Look out for me!!! Typical pilgrim tan, blonde hair, shorts, black top and hopefully back on my feet after five days in a wheelchair so will be taking it very slow. Turtle comes to mind. :)

Great to learn more of your tenacity!! Remember the fable of the tortoise and the hare.
Ultreia!

Espacio Leon! A shoppingcenter 15 walking minutes from Parador on the other side of the Rio! Or 4€ whith taxi

I don't know the name of it and "I think" it's on the Av. Padre Isla which runs into the circular square at the bottom of the pedestrian street coming down from the cathedralYou go to the right and it's on the right side about two or three blocks up and has all sorts of outdoor gear. Having said that, I didn't find a pair of pants that fit.

I managed to get some good kit - a lightweight fleece, poncho etc - at Deportes Cordoba - it's near the city centre at Calle San Agustin, 13. The staff were very helpful too.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
The shop in Avenida Ordono II is called Base. It's closed for refit just now but looks like it will reopen soon. The guy at Cordoba Sports in Calle Santo Augustin is really helpful

We often read that Merino clothing does not smell as much with use, compared to other fabrics. Since my first Camino 9 years ago, I have always worn very lightweight (120 gsm) Merino shirts (by...
So, whatcha all buying? The sale and coupons are burning a hole in my pocket but I can’t decide what I want/need.
Hi all ... I have known for years that Goretex doesn't breathe when it is high humidity (or raining) .. noted because of how damp I would always become inside, as my sweat vapour turned back to...
We fly out in 4 days. I’ve tried major branded socks, three brands, and can’t wear wool. It feels hot and makes my feet hurt for three or four days after. Walking in cotton blend toe socks.. I...
I’m leaving in a week and the weather through the Meseta looks pretty cool at night 45 to 50°F. Is that too cold for a sleeping bag liner?
Laundry Masher - Hmmm... on one hand may come very handy. on the other not sure we'll be able to make it through the plane security with that Grenade-looking contraption
