Outdoor stores in Leon?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Just off the main Calle Ancha there are several places if you walk from the Cathedral down the the river you will see a couple on your left. Sorry I don't know the names of them.

It is called Avda. Ordono II and there are a couple in that area to the left in the side streets. Sorry I can't be more helpful. There is a tourist info centre opp the Cathedral and heaps of pilgrims who may be able to help.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
There is a Decathlon in Ponferrada. Just after Cruce de Ferro last year, the strap on my old rucksack snapped on my descent but I was able to purchase a new one there. I don't speak Spanish but went into a shop in the town centre and eventually managed to make myself understood. They did not have what I needed there but a lovely lady in the shop tried to give me directions, knowing that I didn't understand, took me by the hand and walked a KM out of her way to show me where Decathlon was located. My faith in human nature and the kindness of people was restored.

There is a well-equipped outdoor gear shop off the town square in Astorga. Look for the giant backpack (see attached images); it's in the lower level of the corresponding shop.

Look out for me!!! Typical pilgrim tan, blonde hair, shorts, black top and hopefully back on my feet after five days in a wheelchair so will be taking it very slow. Turtle comes to mind. :)

Great to learn more of your tenacity!! Remember the fable of the tortoise and the hare.
Ultreia!

I don't know the name of it and "I think" it's on the Av. Padre Isla which runs into the circular square at the bottom of the pedestrian street coming down from the cathedralYou go to the right and it's on the right side about two or three blocks up and has all sorts of outdoor gear. Having said that, I didn't find a pair of pants that fit.

I managed to get some good kit - a lightweight fleece, poncho etc - at Deportes Cordoba - it's near the city centre at Calle San Agustin, 13. The staff were very helpful too.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The shop in Avenida Ordono II is called Base. It's closed for refit just now but looks like it will reopen soon. The guy at Cordoba Sports in Calle Santo Augustin is really helpful
