Glad I found this forum -- it has been quite helpful already.
I'm planning on trekking the Caminho Portugues, probably starting in Porto, next spring -- April or May. Always open to any advice, hints, etc.
There are several reasons that I picked the Caminho Portugues over other routes. For starters, my Portuguese is much better than my Spanish. And length. Porto to Santiago looks to be about the right distance for me. I'm a very serious photographer and expect to move rather slowly -- partially because I'll probably want to spend at least a day in any place along the route that charms, which I suspect will include at least Barcelos, Ponte de Lima and Valenca do Minho. And the weight of cameras, lenses, etc. means my pack will be on the heavy side, another reason to procede slowly.
