I'll be walking from Tui to Santiago de Compostela between 7- 14 April. Just wondering if there will be Post Offices in the towns I'll be going through? So many of my friends want me to send a postcard while on pilgrimage!

Short answer: yes. There will be post offices and post boxes. The CTT is no different to any postal service any where else. Buy stamps at your first opportunity so you are not bound to opening times.

And wow, like wow, postcards (?). No blog, no tweeting, no Facebook (tm) updates... Respect pilgrim, Buen Camino

Tui, o Porriño ,Redondela, Pontevedra, Caldas de Reis, Padrón. All reasonable big places..towns ,villages..
The have postoffices called " correos "

Ask "¿ donde están los correos ? Or Los Correos por favor ?

Stamps are also called " sellos" just like the stamp on your credential.

Good advice from Tincatinker, as opening times can be quite short. For instance, the post office in Castrojeriz, a not so small village on the Camino Frances, is open daily from... 10:10 to 10:30...

Is it possible to buy stamps anywhere outside the post office? Here, we get them at the supermarket. There are also vending machines in post office lobbies. Nothing like that in Spain? I too will be sending postcards back to friends and family.

Post offices were difficult to find, even though they were bright yellow, and were often closed in the afternoon. Tobacco shops (with the dull tobacco brown T on a nicotine-stained yellow background) always sell stamps and often postcards. They have very flexible hours. Spain has three sorts of stamps-- for use in Spain, for Europe, and for the world. Just say Hay Sellos? and let them know how many you want. People are very friendly to pilgrims and I have had some nice conversations with the clerks and other customers, although I am still not certain what we said to each other.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Buy the required amount of postcards and stamps on arrival, write them when you feel like it and then put them in the letter box to be send to your friends. Makes you independent from opening hours. Buen Camino! SY

Thanks everyone for the replies. Although I will be bringing the phone, I won't be depending on it, just for emergencies and all my friends want me to send a little souvenir of my pilgrimage to Santiago. Thanks for all the tips and for the words to ask for the stamps!

A further tip for postcardomaniacs is to print address labels before you leave so that all you have to do is stick them on the cards. This provides you with extra time to lounge about in a café or bar and enjoy the life of the pueblo as you are now no longer eating up this time by writing addresses on to cards (and also making life easier for postal employees who do not have to try to decipher our tinto-flavoured handwriting).
