Powerpoint Presentation

Cowboy

Hallo All. I hope to walk the camino in April / May 2011. The problem is that I have a senior position at the company where I work and my colleagues are not keen on me disappearing for 5 weeks at that time of the year. I am positive they could manage without me for 5 weeks if they want to. I will be afforded the opportunity to formally motivate my request to our EXCO in late January and I thought it might be a good idea to prepare a powerpoint presentation for use on the day (to inform and hopefully excite them...) So now I am looking for good slides / ideas / pictures / maps / short video clips etc which could be included in such a presentation. I would really appreciate help from forum members. Thanks in advance, Michael.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
I don't have anything directly Camino-related, but you should check out "Six Months Off", a book by Dlugozima, Scott and Sharp that explores the value, for both employer and employee, of a mid-life sabbatical.

There are lots of good websites out there that are resources for taking a "career break". A simple google search found the following:

http://careerbreaksecrets.com/

http://briefcasetobackpack.com/ (I follow these guys on my RSS feed)

http://www.thecareerbreaksite.com/

http://www.careerbreakcafe.com/

http://www.bootsnall.com/articles/09-06 ... ravel.html

http://www.transitionsabroad.com/public ... reak.shtml

http://meetplango.com/bootcamp/ (this is new, and also looks promising)

Hope that helps. I asked for a leave of absence for five months this year to do the Camino and travel around the world and was denied so I quit my job. Best decision I have ever made.....oh, and I got my job back after I returned home. Don't be afraid. You only live once. Good luck!

Hi Michael,

You can find a lot of Camino photos all over the internet, but if you'd like to use any from my blog (in my signature) tell me which you'd like and I'd be happy to send you hi-res copies.

You can also do an advanced Flickr search on the Camino or related topics and check "Only search within Creative Commons-licensed content" to find a bunch of photos (usually available in large sizes) you can legally use. If you find a photo you like, go to its page, then right click on the photo and select a size from the menu that pops up. It'll take you to another page with a download link

Good luck!
Anna-Marie
