Time of past OR future Camino
Planning Camino Frances april/may 2014; Finisterre/Muxia may 2014
Hi!
I finally decided on my starting date, which will be March 31, the first day Orisson is open (i will NEED the stopover). I hope weather will cooperate! I'm in no rush, so if i need to delay a day or two to do the Napoleon Route, so be it!

I'm excited about my Camino, can't wait! And I'm hoping to continue to Finisterre and Muxia at the end!

I'm looking forward to a beautiful Holy Week in the Camino, don't know where I'll be, but i know it will be truly special!

Looking forward to meeting many friends along the way!

Buen Camino

Ideal pocket guides for during and after your Camino. Each weighs just 40g (1.4 oz).

Might be a good idea to book your place at Orrison ahead as it is very popular. I never stayed there but I hear great things about it ...it is on my "to stay list". If you plan to go over the Pyrenees the next day it would be worth buying some food in SJPP as there is no shop until you get to Ronconvalles and even there the supermarket seems to spend more time closed than open ...

C,
Roncesvalles is a monastery complex; there are NO food shops only a few vending machines and restaurants/bars. The first food market on the camino after Saint Jean Pied Port, Valcarlos, and Roncesvalles is at Burguete.

And it tends not to be open when you would want it to be open. Best buy a bocadillo Jamon at the local bar before you head off in the morning just in case the shop in Burgette is not open and you do not see another shop open during the day. Nothing worse than walking on empty. As a rule I always carry a packet of biscuits in my backpack to act as a pick me up when I cannot find a shop and or restaurant .....

Thanks for the tips! I was thinking of bringing a couple of granola bars/trail mix for the first few days, as i know it will be a steep hike and i would need the extra energy!

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
