In case you wondered, I can now tell you that the Scrubba washing machine is the size of a 13 litre drybag. It has a roll-top closure and a rubber washboard on the inside and a valve to release air from the bag before kneading the laundry in soapy water. Their smaller Allurette delicates washer is the same size as an 8 litre drybag and works the same way apart from a screw closure on the valve. The Scrubba is actually a bit big for one person, I think - I ended up rolling it right up to the valve and it all seemed too roomy in there. I prefer to take it when I have company, and use the Allurette when I am walking on my own or away on business - it definitely beats doing laundry in sinks. That said, it is perfectly possible to do your laundry in a normal drybag, just try to get most of the air out before you roll it shut. Buen camino laundry!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I used a much lighter weight (1.2 ounces) 12 liter Osprey dry bag to wash my clothes. It worked great. As I got into the shower I put my clothes into the bag with some soap and warm water. I closed it, agitated it a bit, then let everything soak while I showered and dressed. After agitating the bag a bit more I rinsed my clothes in the laundry sink. It was easier than standing at the sink washing the clothes, and I think that they came out cleaner than when I just washed them in the sink or laundry tub.

@trecile Yes, I used to use a lighter drybag too but often ended up doing the kneading on rough surfaces so I bought my parents a Scrubba for their campervan out of selfish curiousity - it is thicker and sturdier. Too much so, maybe, but I do like the washboard and valve, a definite improvement on the thin drybag. Recently I found a cheap Allurette and got it because it is smaller and does the same job. Well worth the small weight penalty in my opinion, so I thought I would share the sizings in case someone wondered.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Yes, the valve seems like a definite plus over the standard dry bag.

I brought a Scrubba with me on my Camino in the summer of 2016. I must admit that it was one item that I thought would be really useful but found I really didn't need and I won't carry that weight on my next Camino. I think I may have used it two or three times on the between Roncesvalles and Finisterre. I generally found that the laundry sinks worked just as well or better and I often shared a washing machine. That was my Camino, though. Everyone walks their own.
