We knew we wanted to do something very different before she starts college in the fall. This is it and we are so ready to go. Anyone starting about the same time??
Starting 5/28/11-First Time & bringing 16 year old daughter.
Hi
I am starting about that time, fly into Barcelona (girona) 25 may , I hoped to find a couch to surf before I start from Pamplona or roncessval? Where are you starting from ? Where are you from? I am from Australia, I hope you have a great camino, and maybe we will cross paths, I'll be the one in the hostel snoring)
Hi Linda, I woman I know wrote a book called The Camino Letters. The concept was interesting. She asked 26 of her "closest friends" to give her a challange. She planned to walk 26 days. So the book is less about the camino than it is about her challanges. Her biggest challange was that she walked with her teenaged daughter. What a wonderful experience it ended up being for both of them. They were apart, then together, then apart then together on the trip and ended up being closer in spirit than ever before after the walk. What a great opportunity you both have ahead of you.
Thanks for the suggestion on the book. Maybe we will both read it before we leave!
Frank, we are arriving on the 26th into Barcelona and then off to SJDP on the morning of the 28th. I think we will take the bus, but will check it out when we arrive in BCN.
We presently live in Denver, Colorado, but previously in San Francisco.

Hi lindalou, I arrive at Barcelona 25th and will spend a few days arranging phone sim-cards and a little tourism, I have never been to Denver bug believe it is beautiful and mountainous ? Good training. I have spent two weeks in SF (Brisbane) with my sisterinlaws Brothers family, loved that city and the people.
We may cross paths? I too will travel by bus from BC, if I see you I will say hello
Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
Greetings Lindalou.
I hope you and your daughter are richly blessed on your Camino. It is a truly remarkable experience. It can put a strain on relationships as pilgrims adjust to each other's expectations and limitations. But I have mostly heard stories of finding deeper kinship, compassion and love.
I wish you both those three: deeper kinship, compassion and love.
Greetings to all.
