and nerves have kicked in BIG time!
I'm feeling a mixture of excitement and worry; Did I train enough? Is 33 days long enough? How will my feet fare? Will I stay healthy? Will there be a train strike? And so on and so on!
Nonetheless I am thrilled to have the privilege to look forward to this journey!!!!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
What date are you starting? I'm about 3 weeks too. Stress......maybe a little but now I have my flight/train/Paris bed organised I just have a bed in SJPP to arrange and the rest I believe will take care of itself. I will start 2nd July.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Buen Camino to both of you!!

Remember, The Camino WILL provide. Just enjoy it, and let it do its magic.

It’s a long time since my first camino but I still remember the same emotions you’re feeling @Stellaluna.
All my worries simply fell away once I arrived in SJPP. The adventure took over.
The only regrets I had on finishing that first camino were not allowing many more spare days to enjoy Spain after finishing and not learning more Spanish so I could understand the locals more. They were so giving and wanted to share their local stories. Of course, I’ve attended to that now ;);)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles

I've tried to relearn a bit of Spanish but have not done very well. I'm hoping to pick some up symbiotically on the trail!

Oh - that’s easy. Just spend time in the evenings with the ‘retirees’ in the bars. They love to help. I learnt a lot of my Spanish in bars when I went to live in Seville. In a lot of older style bars, the camareros (staff) use chalk to write up your bill on the bar surface. This became a great way to teach/learn Spanish and English. Very funny and everyone joined in.

Hello, two weeks ago, I finished the Camino Francés, and while all the recent memories have not properly settled yet, I think enough time has passed to write a bit about my experience of the...
Can anyone give me (newbie!) some guidance on planning my stages after Roncesvalles? I currently have lodging booked Zubiri, Pamplona and then Puente la Reine, and on from there. I would prefer...
Big stupid question: what if, in the middle of a stage, I realize I can't really walk anymore? For whatever reason, fatigue, pain, etc. How others have treated this? Are there buses usually...
Hi everyone: I'm hoping to hike the Camino Frances in July/Aug. I would love to, ahead of time, order and ship ahead a pair of my favorite hiking shoes (Hokas) so that, roughly halfway through...
