train back from santiago

hi
my name is gary and i will be walking from sjpdp to santiago on my lonesome in late july early august. is there a train that will get me back from santiago to sjpdp or somewhere near there?
Also is it easy enough to aquire a quick passport in sjpdp - thanks gary.

There are trains from Santiago to Bayonne, it is a bit slow and takes all day. You would then have to go back up to SJPP on the little train/bus. You have to buy the ticket at the train station below the old town, I think, that is what I ended up doing after a lot of fluffing around in town trying to get a ticket.
You can get a pilgrims passport at the pilgrims office in SJPP in the same street as the albergue, sometimes there is a bit of a queue. Cheers, Gitti
