Turn-around time in Bordeaux

I'm sure its on here, and I know I've read it somewhere, but for the life of me cannot find the source, so forgive me if this is a repeat question !

15:28 Paris-Gare-Montparnasse
18:42 Bordeaux St-Jean

5 min transfer time

18:47 Bordeaux St-Jean
20:45 Bayonne

Is this 5 minute transfer time realistic ? Its the only train being offered right now (that I can suss out) for May 9th, 2015 - and I know that its well before the '90day' mark, but it is available, and I'm wondering if I should book or wait until I'm in the 90day zone to see if more trains become available ??

Many thanks!
Cari

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Cari,
If the connecting train to Bayonne is also a TGV it usually waits for the Paris train's passengets before departing. Often in Bordeaux the two TGV trains arrive and depart from opposite sides of the same quai or platform.

Bon voyage,
Margaret Meredith

Hi Margaret,

The first train is an idtgv and the second is a sncf-ter train.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Not sure if 9 May is in a holiday weekend ... you might want to check. And if it is a holiday buy now.

It should state on your ticket which platform your trains arrive and depart

Bonjour la france has a good map of the Bordeaux St Jean station. Note there are 5 tracks. It should be possible to get from one train to the other in 5 minutes.

Here is SNCF version. It has a virtual tour so you can 'walk' around in the station and know where to go.

May 8 is a holiday in France commemorating the end of WW2 so the 9th WILL be busy!
Five minutes should be time enough to change trains but do try to learn from which platform the train for Bayonne will depart.

I am tempted to book now, but seeing how this is the only time and route available (that I have found) i'm sure there will be more opening soon ? I'll keep watching.
Thanks for the links to the station ~ very smart idea !
