Hi, we are planning to walk via de la plata starting middle of Sept for about 25-27 days. We like to start walking from Seville, skip a few routes, and walk Camino Sanabres all the way. We walked Camino Frances in May from St Jean Pied de Port and took bus from Burgos-Leon and train from Astorga to Sarria.

May I get suggestions / information how the public transportation like in VDLP and from where to where would you suggest to take the public transportation (bus or train). Thank you much.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

In March, I took a bus from Seville to Zafra, and next day a bus from Zafra to Merida. You need a day in Merida to see all the Roman ruins and the excellent museum! Then I started walking for about a week as far as Caceres. After that, check out the ALSA service to Salamanca, which has many stops convenient for the Via, depending on how much walking you want to do.

Download the "GoEuro" App . It gives you all the bus and train information for all towns. We have just returned from 2 months in Spain and the App was used daily to get us around.

Thank you! I am downloading it now.

Hi,

besides ALSA there are local bus-services:

LEDA runs between Sevilla (Plaza des Armas) and Mérida/Cáceres,

Moga around Salamanca,

Autocares Vivas between Zamora and Benavente/Leon and on parts of the Camino Sanabrés until Puebla de Sanabría

and Monbus from Puebla de Sanabría to Santiago,

covering also the smaller villages along the Via de la Plata.

Thank you for giving the names of the cities with bus connections. I appreciate it.

Cheers,
