Hi!

I might be doing some weeks on Camino del Norte this summer:)
If I fly to Biarritz would it be possible to walk from the airport to Irun? Preferably along the coastline. Anyone done this?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Try plotting your own route via Google maps. Biarritz airport is at Anglet. See also the current Forum thread Bayonne to Irun for more info.

Happy planning!

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
I did it in September from the airport to Bilbao. I leave again tomorrow to continue..

It was fabulous from Bidart. I had stayed overnight at the Ibis near the airport. You can eat next door at Campanille restaurant. Some road walking but coastal from Bidart. Do NOT attempt to find the French camin as it is inland and marked sporadically. Get a map of the Chemin du Littoral at the Bidart tourist office. It also shows you how to take a ferry from the end of the beach pier at Hendaye to Spain avoiding Irun altogether and you can walk along the coast towards San Sebastián. The French coastal way was breathtaking and so different to walking in Spain. Do some homework on a place to stay in Hendaye as the auberge I stayed in at Hendaye near the station was grim.

I just used a compass by the way! You had to walk along an N route then drop down when not permitted. 1 hour max of roadway.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Seems great, I really have to walk this part. Thanks for all the info!

And buen camino, hope you enjoy the walk from Bilbao!
