Hi.

My husband and I walked from Sevilla to Merida in November. Maybe a mile or two before we arrived in Fuente de Cantos we came across what looked like a very nice, newer albergue. A sign on the gate said Villa Camino de Santiago. It could also have simply been someone's home. I meant to ask in town what it was, but I forgot. Anyone know?

Just a suggestion. If you go to Tiny Pic, it's FREE to upload these photos. Then they will give you a code you can cut and paste for forums, which will make these photos a size we can actually see :)

Just click on the code to highlight it,
then right click on the code, and select "cut"....
then come here and right click in your message and select paste.

When you submit the post, the photos will be there, like this.
Wow! These photos are huge... perhaps you could resize them before posting them?

Many, various, and continuing.
Looks like a weekend/holiday home for a neuveau-riche former pilgrim. Very much a private home, designed for public admiration. The big gates and fences say Private, and the lack of any signs of habitation says it was probably built during the big real-estate "bubble" and possibly never paid-for or inhabited.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

So true. I couldn't have said it better.

P-S. I remember see that place and thinking how it appeared so flashy and useless.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.
