Why so few pilgrims on the Via de la Plata? Article from local website.

That would have been Denise Thiem. I think we should remember her by name. A very painful event but thankfully a unique one.
Correct, we all where surching along the way...so sad and to know we walked just a few meter from where she was found. Stay on the old signs. Because detours lead you to bars, shops and so on. Just stay allert and enjoy the walk

I walked through Astorga on my first Camino sometime in early May 2015, and saw several posters with her photo that she was missing. It definitely put me in a funk for several days. I later followed the story after I returned home; very sobering. She had been lured off the trail by following fake yellow arrows; something to be vigilant and aware of; solo women in particular.

Yes thats right. We where adviced to only follow old arrows after. Sometimes local shops bars paint yellow arrows to lead you to their spots. Detours etc. Still the via dl plata is a long and lonely one. I hope it is safe enoug.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
