Zamora to Oporto via Rio Douro?

Does anyone know if there is a trail/track/road along the Rio Douro from Zamora to Oporto that one could walk?

Is the geography such that it would not allow such a journey?
Or could it be possible?

there is a planned walking/cycling route, yes, called the GR14 Rota dos Vinhos da Europa in Portugal, http://www.euro-senders.com/img/comunit ... algran.jpg which is supposed to eventually link Porto with Strasbourg. However, I wouldn't hold my breath . . .

If you want to make your own route, it might be difficult in places to keep close to the river, but I expect you can devise something. Look at the online maps.

Annie, maybe you could get a boat from Zamora to Porto?

Otherwise, check out this site that offers cycle tours of the Douro from Salamanca to Porto. I'm sure you could follow their cycle route?
