Yes, I know. That downhill is nothing compared to the climb just after Castrojeriz. A real killer, especially for those who walk onto it at noon...

Hola ALex this is not Mule Killer hill - thats the one going down into Hornillos.. According to Brierley this one is : "Alto de Mostelares".

Further comment on the photo - given the colour changes it looks like it was taken in early summer - some browns and some greens. I been there twice in Sept 2015 and May 2017.
@Rick of Rick and Peg - that really would be some zip line. I ended up walking my bike down it until the concrete ended - it was just too steep and far too many pilgrims to ride safely. Cheers
 

You nailed it it was mid June.
 
Just to clarify: Cuesta de Matamuios (Mule Killer) is totally unsealed - gravel (rough in places); whilst the descent from Alto de Mostelares is sealed/concrete for about 500/700 metres, which you can see in the photograph. Also the river and the bridge at Itero are usually visible from the start of the down slop. Cheeres
