I did the Frances in September 2022 with no apps, only armed with Brierly guide book and materials given to me by the Pilgrims Office in SJPDP and did fine -- this Camino has very good infrastructure, it is well marked and it's nearly impossible...

Out of curiosity, which route?
I primarily used Buen Camino on the Primitivo, since I have a distressing habit of getting lost while leaving towns. But when I ran into troubles finding places to stay, Wise Pilgrim was a good backup.
