What are your favorite Camino misspellings on the forum?

Huh? How do English people pronounce Volkswagen? I’m a native German speaker, and I’ve never heard Volkswagen pronounced any other way than the way I would say it.

    Stamps- missing a few days

I did the Via de la Plata this year, and from Ourense it is about 100 km to Santiago, but there simply isn’t a way to get two stamps a day, there are no cafés between the stages, so I only got one stamp a day and it was fine.

    Stamps- missing a few days

Right. And nowadays it’s actually not difficult to get more than one stamp. Every bar and restaurant has a stamp. It can be a fun activity to collect stamps.

    Stamps- missing a few days

I’m not the original poster, but my reason for not getting two stamps was that I didn’t know about it! I did the Camino Frances 11 years ago, without the benefit of this forum, Facebook or any online information. I had no phone with me either. I got my Compostela without any problems.

    Crinkly Plastic Bags

I guess I’m blessed with good sleep. I was always surprised to wake up in the morning and find everyone gone! Never understood how that happened, I never heard a thing! I could never pack up in the dark, and luckily I never had to. We usually left the albergue at 8, wandered over to the nearest...

Should I get a stamp in Ourense?(from ourense to Santiago)

I just came back from the Via de la Plata and I did not get 2 stamps from Ourense on. It never occurred to me. I don’t think it is that easy since there are hardly any cafes or bars between albergues. I got my Compostela and the distance certificate with no problem

    Baggage check

Happened to me too. My backpack was confiscated as being too tall for carry-on, and my husband, who was behind me and had the exact same backpack, was let through, by the same attendant. It’s just hit or miss. But they let me take out stuff I wanted on the plane, like my electronics or snacks.

Excessive planning, research and expectations being set

For our first Camino 8 years ago my husband and I did zero planning. I didn’t know about this forum or Facebook groups. Let alone YouTube videos. We had no idea how to get to SJPP. By looking at the map we thought San Sebastián on the north coast would be the closest, so we flew there. It was...

    Credential?

Stupid question: Is the credential, the pilgrim's passport, the same for the Camino Frances and the Camino Portuguese? I did the Camino Frances previously and had ordered the passport from the American Pilgrims website. Can I order the same one and use if for the Portuguese camino, or is there a...
