    Vila do Conde to Arcos route information

    I did that route last June with 10 others. The route from Vila do Conde to Arcos is all road with little footpath( about 10k) Myself and 3 others got a taxi to Arcos and walked to Barcelos which was about 22k. Those that walked the whole way would not recommend the road walk, about 32k in total.

    Myself and a few friends cut inland from Vila do Conde 2 weeks ago. There does not appear to be an official route to link the Coastal to the Central route from Vila do Conde.Some of us took a taxi to Arcos, the rest walked nearly 10km along a road with no footpaths and many bends.     Thanks for all the suggestions. Having completed the Camino Frances last year we do not plan to walk to Santiago but start in Porto and walk about half way to Santiago.

    I am planning to do Camino Portuguese from Porto with a few friends in mid June 2023. We hope to walk for about 6/7 days. We are looking for advice on whether to do the Coastal or Central route taking into consideration the heat in June.
