What I learned about trekking poles..
Yes agreed. I used to loop my wrists through the straps until I fell on muddy ground and had one of the poles hit my ribs. Three cracked ribs later I had a very uncomfortable finish to my hike along the Bibbulmun Track in Western Australia.- Bap53
