With more and more people starting on their caminos, I would definitely recommend staying at the Little Fox House after they finish up in Santiago. Tracy Saunders started this post camino retreat a few years ago and already over 300 pilgrims were able to enjoy her hospitality. Knowing how...
Okay...well as someone who has suffered from depression, and had some dark moments on the camino (thus stopping in Pamplona), I would hesitate in this. For me, the walks were therapeutic BUT, I had issues later in the day after I had stopped and finished all the post walking chores. When there...
Went to see the movie with my Mom. It did bring back memories of my own (shortened) camino. The biggest thing was when I saw the size of her pack, I'm just shaking my head, no, no, no! That pack was probably heavier than she was! No desire to walk the PCT, but my dream is still alive to get...
It's not finding the group, necessarily, but keeping up with the group. The best way for me to do this is to be in much better physical conditioning than I was last year. Also, there will be stages that I plan on just having my bag transported to the next step and just have a day bag...

Probably would have been better if I watched this vs. "The Way" While not a bad movie and it did introduce me to the Camino, just from the clips (going to get the DVD), I think it'll better prepare me (as I didn't get too far) and it will allow me to remember the beautiful scenery I did pass.
Great Advice SYates! I wish I had followed it! I had made it up to Orrisson which was a lot steeper than I expected. I wasn't in good physical conditioning...I had a wonderful time in Orrisson, but I let my anxiety push me to take a taxi from Orrisson to Roncesvalle where I walked on to...
I'm back...I think my prior user name was caminokris2014, but it wasn't going thru. In May of 2014, I started in SJPDP and got to Pamplona. Even in that short period I feel like I learned a lot. It was so much more difficult than I imagined. First I was not well prepared physically (no ones...
