"Walking Guide to the Camino de Santiago..." by Gerald Kelly

I carried the Brierley MAP book (just the stage maps) and had the Gerald Kelly on my Nook and this was perfect for me. I don't know what the physical book is like (weight) so I can' speak to that but I found that Kelly gave me better albergue descriptions than my friends with the full Brierley...

    Poncho or not

I just want to throw in a reminder to try the gear before you walk. I had my old raincoat that turned out to have degraded to rain-resistant. (Shame on me) Then along the way I acquired a poncho but it actually bunched up between my knees and somehow got me even more wet than my coat. So if you...

    Arles in early April?

Very interesting, dalston999. I had basically given into walking part of the Le Puy route since the Arles sounded too isolated for me to walk without having much french. But maybe we should team up for a bit! I'm planning to spend 6 weeks walking to santiago, so I'll need to do some research...

Alternative Camino Routes for a First-Timer

I'm planning on walking to Finisterre in April 2013 and keep going back and forth on which Camino to take. I'm interested in a route that isn't very busy so I can have some solitude, but is still easy to find shelters, etc as a woman walking alone. I'd particularly like a route that is more...

    Class of 2013

Greetings! I'm planning to start on my Camino in April 2013. I've been feeling a strong pull to start in France at the Caves at Saint Baume, where Mary Magdalene and many women before her found solace. My Spanish is decent but my French non-existant (which hopefully will change), so I'm nervous...
