Hi Kevin,
Thanks for making my day! I'm thrilled you are enjoying my book. I hope you can recognize the places I describe, and I hope you meet beautiful people along the way.
Buen Camino!
Christine
I graciously accept your thank-you. And Please, don't feel piggy! I didn't write to make money. I wrote to share a story and encourage others. And I loved every bit of the process. It felt like walking my 4th Camino.
I added the book to the free Kindle downloads, which was my choice so that it...
Thank you for your kind words! You made my night. It means so much to me to be read, appreciated, and understood. I'm happy you are listening to the little Camino voice calling you to pilgrimage. I hear it all of the time. In fact, the only time I'm not thinking about the Camino is when I'm on...
Hello!
I'm a 3x peregrina and have just published my first book on Amazon. This nonfiction travelogue shares a personal story but there are also bits of history and spirituality, trail-sense and nonsense, best practices and mistakes, and humorous encounters with fellow peregrinos. I hope you'll...
Hi Ray,
It is all about avoiding friction for me. Vaseline seems to provide a barrier between my socks and my tissue-paper feet. I have terrible struggles with blisters, no matter how broke my boots - I always have. Last year I tried Vicks, a mentholated petroleum jelly. I liked the cool...
Happy update! Last time, I started in Pamplona because I feared the terrain in the first bit. I have a serious balance disorder and use a service dog. Well, I planned to hike again in May with my dog, but he suffered a mild injury and I can't risk his health. So, hubby has volunteered to be my...
Yes, takes a little practice. I still splash on my boots sometimes (probably need a longer hose or keep it in the weeds). I continue to use mine off trail - no more hovering over icky gas station toilets & no more seedy rest stops. It is liberating, to say the least.
Oh, I love this story. I am married and wish my husband would walk with me. So many times along the route, I wanted to share something with him. I'll walk again in May, and I'll feel the same. But he will be home on the couch. Ah well... love is funny like that.
Exoffico undies dry in just a couple of hours. I carried 2 pair - one on and one in the bag. They make not-so-supportive bras too. I didn't want to pin unmentionables to my pack, so quick-dry is handy. I did safety-pin washed smartwool socks (not as fast drying) to my pack everyday. I carried...
Oh! Thank you, Diggs. I just ordered Spanish patches and a bright orange mesh vest, matching collar, & leash. What a good site. I'm happy they have orange. Jasper is black and camouflages with the road. His new vest along with my red backpack will make us highly visible on the sketchy stretches.
Wishful thinking has brought me back from very dark places, and wishful thinking is what sparked my initial Camino journey. I'll stick with being wishful. It serves me well. And now, I wish you a lovely day.
