    Replace trail runners or not

    Never used that brand but trail runners really shouldn't need a breaking in period. I usually start any long distance walk with a brand fresh pair of Altra Lone Peaks and it's never given me any issues.

    On the Portuguese there is a few albergues that don't provide pillows - never seen this anywhere else. My memory might be faulty but I think it only ever happened between Lisbon and Porto as well, and not any further.

    Can confirm you just buy the tickets on the bus - in fact it's not possible to reserve seating ahead of time. There is a ticket office in Salamanca (not always open) but it seems to be massicot for people wanting to buy a 40-trip subscription. Be careful in the weekends as the bus is much less...

    Is it doable? Of course, if you want to. Do keep in mind though that between Alboloduy and Nacimiento (km3-6 in between to be specific) is probably the steepest bit of the entire Mozarabe, with very little cover or shade. Personally if it's a hot day I wouldn't want to do that in the afternoon...

    Just pretend like the bars are paying public toilets. I've never had a problem going to a café, handing over a euro to the person running it and say "por los aseos" (for the toilet) - if you want or need anything from the cafe at that point
