Where do you carry your valuables?

Yeah, sure, they work for keeping physical pieces of wealth near your person. I'd rather have a digital form, that requires my face (or code) to use.

Where do you carry your valuables?

Money belts/ Fanny packs are old school, imo.

    Please review my packing List

Darn it! That happened to me in April 2022 on The Norte. After a "communal laundry" I lost a pair of my beloved exofficios, or whatever they are called. I joked that some skinny guy will not be satisfied with my size! For me the solution was a china store with cheap male quick dry imitation...

Where do you carry your valuables?

So I'll avoid some details, but nowadays nearly ALL transactions for me take place using my iPhone and ApplePay. My phone is kept in my pocket, so I can take pictures, look up places to see, monitor GPS directions, etc. I pay for nearly everything with my phone. Passport/credential kept in...

    Please review my packing List

I like to have 3 sets of underwear/socks. Sometimes laundry can be complicated by weather or location, and I can walk fer sure in a dirty shirt or shorts... but feet and underwear I like to always be clean... just me though.

    Walking Sticks! (yes, i know)

Um, I enjoy myself immensely, hence my Camino habit! Like everything else on the Camino, however, there is certainly more than one way to skin a cat (or walk 500 miles).

Necessary to book train tickets from Santiago to Madrid in mid-October?

Yah, that's why I haven't done it! But I've been tempted!

Regardless of the other reasons poles make sense (less joint trouble, etc.) I love the Nordic style for the following reason: Upper body workout! If you are at all tempted to walk the Camino to get in better shape I can attest to greater arm/chest strength (and muscles) after the walk.

Necessary to book train tickets from Santiago to Madrid in mid-October?

Interesting. I usually book my inbound/return flight from the USA to Madrid and back separately from my in country travel. Usually it's because I want to be flexible about timing and which route I actually want to take. I stay in Madrid the night before I go back home, so the risk is...

Pamplona to Saint Jean in September

Ok, so this is just my advice based on previous trips and all just related to personal preferences. I don't check luggage ever. I know my bag is in the overhead bin... I grab it, I leave. 36L backpack, poles to be purchased in country.

Pamplona to Saint Jean in September

Well totally usually, with caveats. See it's a small airport, few flights arriving. When my flight arrived late, the taxi stand was painfully slow. I have a feeling the local taxis know the schedule but not the delays. So, it took a little while longer than I would say is "easy", but taxis...

    Walking Sticks! (yes, i know)

Ok, so in 2019 I met a German woman just outside of Leon. I was actually walking by when I overheard the following, "and one breast was bigger than the other." It caught my attention. Later when we connected I asked her about it. She was not shy. Apparently in a walk previous, from SJPdP to...

    Walking Sticks! (yes, i know)

I set poles so that when standing upright my forearms are level. That's it,

Pamplona to Saint Jean in September

So I land in Pamplona airport on the 1pm or so flight arriving. Then I scope out others with backpacks. Then I talk to them. Then we share a cab to SJPdP. Last time it was 35 euros each. Shared by 3.
