    Liner Socks

    I'm in the Smartwool sock camp. I also used Glide everyday. Careful with that though in the dark...looks like stick deodorant...which BTW will work also. I used liners a few times with success but prefer one pair of socks. Smartwool will dry overnight as well.

    the camino in 33 stages? John Brierley book

    I did it in 36 days without staying extra days anywhere. If I were to do it again (SJPP to SDC) would probably plan for 40 days to afford some shorter distance days. The Brierley book was a good investment for the maps, albergues, alternate routes and other info included.

    USD Money Exchange

    An exchange rate of 1.22- 1.24 sounds like a wholesale rate. I've not run across anyone who will retail currency at that rate but if you can get it, more power to you. AMEX has worked well for me
