Hi pilgrims. I'm in Ponferrada, starting tomorrow. I heard some pilgrims bad encountered unleashed dogs on the way. Just wondering if anyone here bad similar experience and if it's gonna be a problem. Thanks.
I'm on the coastal route now. Big crowd in Porto, but then people spread out, taking different route or different pace. Good idea to book ahead for big cities like Porto, Castelo and Vigo. I never had problem getting a bed in smaller towns/villages. Hope it helps. Buen camino.
Thank you Linda, I will do the same and stay 2 nights in VFX. I'm not aiming to do a lot of KMs neither, better to build the trail legs gradually. My bags are packed and I can't wait to be on the Camino!
Hi Linda, thanks for the msg. May I ask which hostel you have booked for VFX? I might try to do same if possible. And yes, I will do my best to post my progress as I go. Bom caminho!

Excellent. Thanks for the info. Can't wait to start walking in June.
Yes, that's great advice. Blisters will be a real deal-breaker on the Camino. Noted with thanks.

What is the latest COVID rule in Spain/France walking the Camino? Eg. Do you need an app to check in at every albergues and restaurants? Do you need to wear face masks in public? Thanks.
For those who arrive in salas early and don’t mind walking an extra 8kms. I would highly recommend Albergue bodeyana. A fabulous donativo run by David and Celia. They greet you on your arrival, offer you drinks while signing in. They cook you dinner and breakfast. Washes and dries your cloth for...
