I walked the C2C in 1987, so my opinion may not be worth too much, but I enjoyed it so much I still have a fairly good memory of it. I walked the Primitivo in 2019.
The only part of the C2C that is a bit challenging is in the Lake District. If you are walking west to east, that would be the...
Back in 2018 a friend and I used Caminoways for the Siena to Rome section. All worked out very well, and the stages and accommodation were generally pretty good. (I have no connection to the company).
I must be the contrarian here. I would say Alicante. I spent two weeks there after my aborted Camino Levante last October, and loved it. I have only spent 2-3 days in Valencia, which is nice, so it may not be a fair comparison, but Alicante is the winner for me.
They say 12 hours, and I had a good experience with them, but If it was me, I would give it a bit of a buffer to be on the safe side.
My friend took the test the same time as me, and he didn’t initially find the email they sent him. It took a while, but eventually he found it in some sort of...
Hello @Albertagirl: With regards to Canadian COVID regulations, I returned to Toronto from Madrid yesterday (with a connecting flight in Lisbon). The current Canadian test requirement is that a PCR test must be completed within 72 hours of the flight departure. The cheaper, faster rapid antigen...
We will be staying right in Alicante, so we will definitely take a long look at the virtual Lana thread. Many thanks for the heads up.
There is only one thing I would add to your list of our stages. It looks like we failed to mention this. We broke up the Xativa to Moixent stage by taking a...
Just a quick shout out to the Spanish healthcare system. A bad blister is not exactly a life threatening injury, but everyone has been very kind and caring.
I echo what @mike105 has said about the Levante. Some planning is needed, and it’s not a busy route, but I think it can be very...
I’m the friend that is currently walking the Levante with @mike105. We split up today for the stage from La Font de la Figuera to Almansa. @mike105 followed the Levante, while I chose the shorter route along the Camino de Alba - Etapa 12 (which I learned about from the virtual Levante thread...
Yes. The requirements for entering or transiting in Portugal (as I interpret them) are not dependent on your vaccination status. A test is required. Please see my post above (#13) for links to websites that detail the requirements.
Regarding Portugal, if anyone wants to pursue it further, attached below are links to the two websites I mentioned in my earlier post above (#5):

I have done some self-guided tours on the Camino and done some caminos on my own. I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. There are pros and cons to each methodology, but I would say the important thing is to get out and do it. How you do it, in this context, is less important.
If looking at a...
Hi @CalgaryLynn: I’m not sure about that. I’m double vaccinated, so I will have my vaccination certificates with me, but I believe that right now we need a negative test to enter or transit in Portugal. We need another negative test to get back into Canada. The requirements could obviously...
There are references to Portugal in earlier posts in this thread. My understanding from doing a bit of reading on this is that as a Canadian one does not require proof of vaccination to enter or transit in Portugal, but one does need to have proof of a negative test within either 48 or 72 hours...
I am planning on leaving Valencia in early October and hopefully going as far as Toledo. My calculations show that Mora to Toledo is about 39 kilometres. Leaving Mora, this route goes through Mascaraque, Almonacid, Nambroca, Burguillos, and Cobisa, before arriving at Toledo. This seems to be the...
