My Camino was a great adventure with me the explorer! So I just took one of my two cats' names ( the female) because it matched the kids TV show ...Dora the Explorer. I could have picked the other cat and been Go Diego Go. My Camino was this year-13. /Patti

Porto to Santiago in Nov 2013

So my Portuguese Camino is taking a big longer than expected due a sore right shin. I will not be able to walk to the coast. I am trying to decide if I should take a bus. My question .. Is it worth while taking a bus to the coast .. Or should I just enjoy Santiago. Dora the explorer...

    Soon heading out: Camino Portugese!

I bought the arcteryx at Valhalla Pure, not MEC. Forget the actual jacket name. I picked up a pair of cool max and Marino wool socks, and trying a pair of Bamboo/wool as well. Have not tried toes socks since sometime in the 1970's!! I have thought of trying the running toe shoes though. But...

For the record it's raining something crazy just north of Vancouver, BC. I bought a new Arcteryx jacket and pants, cover for the pack from MEC.... I'm still deciding on socks... with less than 6 weeks until I touch down in Porto. ...the explorer

10 days to Santiago starting Sep 27th

Ella_leah I would be interested in hearing about your plans for your first few days. Will you take transit to Motsinhos to start? I plan on walking along the river and was hoping to then stay in Motsinhos, as I hear there is a Refugio there. But not sure where.
