Does he reopening of the route always happen on 1st April or is this weather dependent?
Would love to walk it but would never break the rules or ignore official advice. Next year's Camino must be early April or September due to work.

- Will a silk / cotton sleeping bag liner be sufficient rather than sleeping bag ?

I remember San Bol well. Easter weekend in 2014 and Hornillos was full. It was baking hot and I had to walk on to San Bol. They were full too but made room for me on the floor. The paella was fresh the company brilliant. Lovely garden to sit in too.

I often take a small rechargeable battery pack with USB adapter. For those times when the socket isn't close by and you don't want to sit by it. Little bit of extra weight is the trade off.

I walked this route in 2015, at from Porto to Vila do Conde then inland to Barcelos.
If you have to skip a section then Tui to Redondela could be one, that saves 30km and the first part of that was pretty horrid as far as I was concerned (esp. Tui to Porrino).

I walked Porto to Santiago a couple of years ago. Stayed in Catro Canos in Tivo, probably my favourite experience of any Camino. A lot depends on the mix of people there but family who run it were just so friendly. They are on Facebook and fill up quickly, I think they take bookings.

I did this in 2015 at passport control in Porto Airport !!!
I am (at least for now!) an EU citizen but they were checking and stamping passports of the non-EU citizens so I queued up in the non-EU line and presented my passport and my Credencial.
Whats this he asked? He was happy to stamp...
