For me it started in Astorga. I started my trip in SJPDP. Very weird. The terrain in Saint-Jean wasn't too flat either though. ;-)
I used Gehwohl-cream. No idea whether it helped or not, but I didn't get blisters for 3 weeks. Afterwards, I got a few small ones. But still, I was very happy to have walked all these days without blisters. So I'd use it again. I had the impression that the skin of my feet became a bit stronger...

I just returned from my first Camino.
I had bought some Merrell mid-high hiking shoes/boots for the trip. I loved them a lot. Actually I didn't get any blisters for about 3 weeks. And then suddenly I got a few!
It was so weird, right at the moment where I started to feel confident...
For now (only home for a couple of days yet), it's still a lot of ideas and vague plans.
I didn't set the expectation to receive clear plans really. I don't know whether we ever know what we want in life until we really give it a try and see whether it works.
