Last night we stayed in Casa del Sol a Sol in Hornillos del Camino. The owner could not have been more accommodating and told us that the front door is open 24 hours a day. When we came down for breakfast this morning he told us that someone had stolen a charity tin from the dining/lounge area...
We walked the whole CF last year and Sarria to SDC was some of the most enjoyable walking. The Galician countryside is so beautiful. If you avoid the set stages you can still find some solitude, although Sarria to Portomarin was like doing the Camino on steroids!
Here is my accommodation list. We started last September and booked the first week and. After that we usually booked 2-3 days in advance, except Sarria to SdP which we booked about 1 week in advance.

I recently completed the CF wearing two pairs of Bridgedale liner socks, Gewohl foot cream and...
It’s very much a personal choice. In the UK, if it’s damp/wet I normally wear Scarpa boots. However, in dry conditions I wear Altra Olympus 5 trail runners, which is what I’ve just worn to walk the CF, with no blisters or injuries. However, foot care and the right socks are really important...
Came home from Santiago last weekend. Most nights I’ve woken during the night feeling disoriented and thinking that I am still on the Camino. Also, lots of dreams about leaving my wallet in albergues and worrying about it being stolen. Very strange.
