In June and July 2000 Ad Hermans handbiked from Haarlem (the Netherlands) to Santiago in 5 weeks (= approx. 2550 km) together with is wife, her sister and brother in law on normal bikes.
After that they also went to Rome...

In the Netherlands we have an oceanic climate, that means the climate is inconstant, it is relatively cool in summer and mild in winter. Rain is never far away, wind is most of the time moderate to strong or stormy from western directions ( the North Sea is west of us)...

From Aguilar de Campo both descriptions use the same route/places, but the Camino Olvidado goes...

The end of May, the beginning of June is a good time to enjoy nature, but also later in the year, July, August and Septembre are good to walk this .
It is never too hot, there is always wind, sometimes rainy and never it is crowded!
Even in wintertime we walked parts of it.
