Ali, raileurope.com is an option to book train transport from paris to sjpp...not sure if it's the best... Mspath, I called accuel pelerins but the person who answered did not speak english...i then filled out a reservation request online for one of the auberges listed in the brierley...- jayandar

Can you recommend Paris hotel near Gare Montparnasse.
Check out Studio Hotel at 25 Rue Alain Chartier which I gather is very near the Convention Metro stop which itself is 5-10 minutes from Gare Montparnasse. From the reviews I read it's old, you probably will share a toilet, but clean and conveniently located near shops and the metro. Priced...- jayandar

Hi all, My flight arrives in Paris on 5/17. The only feasible train from Paris that day arrives in SJPP at 10:27PM. I checked L'Esprit's website (looked nice) but it states they close the doors at 10:30. I really want to get into SJPP on 5/17. Any suggestions considering the late arrival...- jayandar

Sock configuration with sneakers (running shoes/trainers)
Tinca, my brain agrees with you re: leather boots, but my feet won't have it. They're hot right now as I type this, and I'm only sitting in a rocking chair watching the B52s on tv. Sans, glad to hear you had success with trainers. Pretty sure I'll try that sock setup also. Need to find...- jayandar

Hi, all! Something is really driving me to want to do this pilgrimage. I’m a bit apprehensive. Yet the exhilaration is greater. I hope to do the Camino Frances from SJPP beginning mid-May (starting out solo). I probably should have started planning a bit earlier- don’t even have a flight...- jayandar
