    No beds

Would only recommend ordering dinner as the wait in the morning for breakfast is a long process. There is a supermarket less than a hour away and some wear to sit and have enjoy you breakfast.

    Presents for children in Santiago

http://m.20minutos.es/noticia/3048018/0/gustavo-dudamel-dirigira-9-sinfonia-beethoven-en-santiago-de-compostela/ The conductor leads the LA Philharmonic and the main Venezuelan orchestra as his day job - we were watching the rehearsal for a few hours and our hotel is in earshot. It's amazing!

Where to buy brass pavement shells in Santiago?

Thanks everyone!! For others' reference: The Ferreteria Casas Chico as 23 Casas Reais has a range of pieces at very reasonable prices. Very nice old hardware store!! Casa Miguel at Rio do Villar 14 has a range of quality shiny things - expensive but well made. The Mestre Mateo shop on Rua...

Where to buy brass pavement shells in Santiago?

Thanks. We'll take a look next week. Not sure my DIY skills are up to it - would rather pay for quality craftsmanship. Even if we then embed it in a path!

Where to buy brass pavement shells in Santiago?

Walking the Camino Frances I have seen a variety of designs of brass shells embedded in pavements, guiding our way to Santiago. One of these is pretty much the only physical thing both my dad and I would like to take back to our respective homes. I'm surprised I've not seen any (other than 2...

    Sleep sac

After much debate we've invested in very cheap (£10) sleeping bags that will suffice for the first few weeks (we start on the 13th May and current night temps are not sweltering). Not as light as our planned blankets at 850g but I hate being cold at night. We can always donate them later in the...

Roncevalles Dinner - 19 days away

Avoid breakfast. Starts at 7 (ie you get through the door long after) and was the most meagre bit of dry bread ever seen. No second helpings. Walk on to the next village for supermarket and cafe Dinner - basic but social. Not many options unless you cook yourself

    dresscode evenings in alberque

Damn! Am I going to need to get us some lycra? Marvellous (mis?)quote from somewhere I don't recall from a man of a certain age. "I always wanted a body that would make young women faint. I just didn't think it would be this one"

    Tips for Re-entry

But most Muslims I know 'get' the idea and purpose of the haj, and the need to do pilgrimage. So their acceptance doesn't surprise me at all.

Where did you walk ( locally ) in 2017?

We just completed three practice days on the Severn Way, from Gloucester Cathedral via Tewkesbury Abbey and starting today with Easter Service at Worcester Cathedral. Where we paid our respects to the 'Worcester Pilgrim' found buried in the Cathedral in the '80s dressed in his Camino garb...
