I must admit the word "ban" does not seem to fit the spirit of the camino. I just completed 250 km and yes there were bikes, yes I stepped aside (also for groups of pilgrims walking 3 abreast faster than I 🙄), but those moments never diminished the awesome experience and I hope negative comments...
I felt there was more of a problem on weekends and the most aggressive appeared not to be pilgrims, but locals out using the same trail. I always shout a "thanks for the bell" when it's used.
The best advise for me was when I got up in the morning, take the 1 or 2 steps to the nearest wall, lean my hands against it at an angel and do 10+ up and downs on my toes. It went away before the $250 orthodontics ever arrived .
I've got 3 darn tough mid cushion socks w/ cuffs coming. Need to test ponchos I have or spring for gortex. But will probably wait to see weather trends May '23.
I know the feeling! Though my husband says he 'll go, he's not choosing to be involved much in the planning. Who knows. I just ordered 3 pairs of merino wool socks. Not trivial! I'm soooo excited.
